Drees Co. was founded in 1933 by Louie & Theresa Drees. The company handled residential sales and service and specialized in oil burning heating equipment. Louie & Theresa left a legacy of quality of work along with exceptional customer service.
Howard G. Drees, Douglas Drees and Kenneth Kammin then purchased Drees Co. in 1968. They found new ways to improve and deliver the services Drees Co. provides. Howard, Doug and Kenny continued the growth of the company, making Drees Co. a successful mechanical contractor in Central Iowa.
Representing the third generation, Howard J. Drees bought the company in 1993. Howie continues to explore all opportunities to help grow Drees Co. Adding the electrical division, temperature controls division, and security systems division has made Drees Co. a multi-dimensional company.
A lot has changed since the thirties. A pivotal moment in our company’s history occurred in 2021 when Alex Drees and Derek Drees made a significant investment, cementing their positions as esteemed co-owners. Additionally, Howie has remained a valued owner, contributing his expertise and commitment to our ongoing success. Since then, our company has flourished, boasting a dedicated team of over 70 employees who continue to play a vital role in our continued success.
