50A Transfer Switch Improvements & Enhancements

The EGS50L12 and EGS50L12R will supersede the CHGEN50ATS and CHGEN50ATSR respectively. The following information highlights the changes and improvements made with the new design.

Improved Contactor with Enclosed Contacts
Power switching contacts are completely enclosed and barrier included isolating from
panel interior section for added safety.

Easily Visible Service Information
A label has been added with contact number for our service hotline, to eliminate questions on where to go for aftermarket support.

Load-Shed Contacts Included
The RTC-50 controller includes two sets of contacts for customer use in shedding load while under generator power. The contacts are closed when the transfer switch is in utility position and are open when the transfer switch is in generator position. These
contacts were previously offered as an optional kit.

New Maintenance Indicator Contacts
The RTC-50 includes contacts for wiring a service indicator light. A 5mm panel-mount LED with a maximum current rating of 25mA is recommended (Dialight 559-5101-007F or equivalent). The board will keep track of the number of hours that the generator has run\ for up to 1000 hours. Each long flash on the indicator light equals 100hrs of run time and each short flash equals 25hrs of run time.

Cold-Weather Setting for TDNE
Time Delay Normal (Utility) to Emergency (Generator) is selectable with movement of a jumper. Product is shipped with a delay of 20 seconds and may be changed to 50 seconds for allow for smooth startup in cold-weather climates.

New Go-To-Generator Contacts
Board includes contacts which allow for acceptance of a remote “go to generator”
signal. Upon receiving this signal from any remote source, the contactor will switch to emergency position if the generator source is available (i.e. if the generator is running and available).
